Alessandra de Campos

I've been an educator for 24 years. I have taught English and Portuguese in schools (middle and high school), in language institutes (teenagers and adults) and in companies (Microsoft, Adobe, Ci&T and Boehringer Ingelheim). I have also designed language teaching material (Spanish, French and English) and trained teachers at multiple places.
Education:
I have a BA in Literature and a post-graduation in Applied Linguistics (Literacy) from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), in Brazil, and am starting a Master's program in Education Policy and Leadership at the University of Washington. As part of my education, I've done courses in Teaching for Understanding, Making Thinking Visible and Differentiated Instruction at Harvard Graduate School of Education and Assessment at the University of Oregon. I also have a CELTA and am in the process of getting a DELTA. My main interests at the moment are teacher development, autonomous learning, education policy and assessment. I've been working as a Cambridge speaking assessor for the past 2 years and have just joined AdvancED's external review team, working on school accreditation.

Marielle Venturino

Mari Venturino is a third year teacher at Mar Vista Academy in the Sweetwater Union High School District where she teaches 7th grade life science and health. She completed her B.S. in General Biology at the University of California, San Diego in 2011, and continued on to earn a Master of Education in Secondary Education in 2012. With her passion for technology, she has provided professional development to her staff in areas such as the online learning management system Canvas, iMovie, and effective iPad integration in the classroom. She strives to make iPads more accessible to teachers, parents, and students who are not yet comfortable with the technology. Recently, she finished a certificate in Teaching Online from UCSD Extension, and has hopes of further integrating technology into her classroom. Additionally, Mari Venturino is currently participating in the CUE Innovative Educator Certificate to enhance her knowledge and application of classroom technology. Her goals are to effectively use technology with the Next Generation Science Standards, and to prepare students for an education that extends beyond the face-to-face classroom. She presented at the 2014 iPad Summit, and 2014 Spring CUE conference, while also holding professional development for teachers throughout the Sweetwater UHSD.
